ABOUT Quidi Vidi Village

Quidi Vidi Village is a picturesque neighbourhood located in the city of St. John's, Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada. 


Just a 5 minute drive to downtown, Quidi Vidi is known as the only village in Newfoundland; a special place within a place.  


With cod fishing roots stemming back more than 500 years, Quidi Vidi still has an active fishing harbour. 


The village's traditional Newfoundland architecture and breathtaking geographical features make it the most photographed area in all of Newfoundland and Labrador.

 A 6 minute walk from Quayside Quidi Vidi. Book a boat tour or cod fishing excursion.  Seasonally operated. Recreational cod fishery is typically on Saturdays, Sundays and Mondays in July and August.

Home of the annual regatta races, a 

St. John's tradition since the early 1800s! Enjoy an easy four-kilometer walk around the lake, feed the ducks, and enjoy the natural beauty of the area.

The trail head is a 4 minute walk from Quayside. Hike to breathtaking vistas of Quidi Vidi Harbour and the Atlantic Ocean. Great spot to pick blueberries in late Summer, or have a picnic while enjoying the views.

A 10 minute drive or 30 minute hike on the North Head Trail will bring you to the centre of the Signal Hill National Historic Site. Visit Cabot Tower, enjoy the panoramic views, explore the trails, and learn about the important history of this place.
